This assignment was to make something in paper mache. I had been toying with the idea of inner and outer beauty as a subject and thought it might work well to make a half skull and half fleshed out face. Sort of a "beautiful bones" comment. The paper mache was messy and time consuming. It came out sort of lumpy, which didn't lend itself to smooth skeletal bones or a smooth face, so I covered it with plaster of paris. While I was messing around with this, I remembered an old decoupage method for llifting the print off of a magazine picture, so I found a picture of a model and laminated it to the face. I think it looks kind of goulish!
