Still

Make something that is normally meant to move into something that no longer is able to move (or at least seems that way.) This little watercolor of a forgotten trike came to mind.

Wallpaper

Using any technique create a wallpaper for your desktop. I combined a lot of superimposed images from the mirror-art project for this rather interesting looking arrangement in black and white.

Visible

Get under the skin. I did a color version of the brain. Obviously a creative type brain with lots of activity~

Black

Today I am to work only with black. It's amazing how many shades of black there are. I used paint chips, construction paper, ink and ribbon to get a variety of blacks in this collage.

Reflections

This was a pretty cool activity! I was to create designs with mirrors. I used several mirrors (one magnifying) set at different angles and with various items laid on the mirror. It is hard to photograph anything on mirror. I think I like the feathers best.

Leaf shapes

This assignment was to create something based on the shapes of leaves in my vacinity. I decided to do a positive/negative design of an oak leaf.

New Message

This assignment was to transform an advertising message to give it new meaning. I tried to give decaffeinated the jitters. Isn't that funny? The word jittters just looks caffeinated!

Chimes

Might call this a mechanic's wind chime....I was to make chimes out of something. They didn't have to actually work. (And they didn't sound very melodic!) Assignment done.

Reptiles and Hardware

Today I was to make something inspired by reptiles and use items found in a hardware store. I liked this project. Used rasps and files to create rubbed textures. I cut out the reptile pieces and glued on googly eyes. My silly kind of art!

Food Packages

Work with boxes or bags from packaged food products today. I thought collage was the only way to go with this one. No message - just pleasing shapes and colors.

Sense of Touch

Today's prompt was to make something that appeals to the sense of touch. I made a bouquet of fluffy feathers.

Silversmith

Work with black/white/silver today. I found this black and white print to make a necklace drop. So simple, and I think I'll wear it!

Katy Trail

The directive was to create in a place you would normall be for some other reason. I like to bike the Katy trail and sometimes take a camera along. This was a beautiful spot along the trail.

Out of pocket

The directive was to go to a place you normally wouldn't do your art work and find something to work on. I don't normally work in the living room. I shot this beautiful Maple tree in full fall color out the living room window right before the wind took all the leaves away.
