Animal Inspiration
This project was to design something for an animal. I designed a wonderful climbing tower for Jonesie, my lazy cat. He'd probably sharpen his claws and maybe take a bat at a toy and then go lay down for a nap in one of his many favorite chairs. He sleeps about 22 out of 24 hours.

Good Luck Charm
The good luck here was in the fun of making this little piece. A really simple process of glueing pretty patterns to little squares of lucite, and then adding a back. I like the colors in this one so you will probably see me wearing it. I have about 10 more patterns I would like to try, Christmas gifts, perhaps?
On close inspection...
This project was to take a closer look, indoors or outdoors, for inspiration. The first is a close-up of the ground in an indoor potted plant. I liked the curled dry leaves and texture of the soil.
The second is a close look at the patterns and veins of a leaf.
The third is the lichen and moss that is growing on my back deck. Looks kind of like flowers and foliage.
Next is a close view of a lava rock - very textural.
And, finally a close up of a friendly spider. I like his eyes and the delicate striping on his legs. Yeah, I got a little carried away on this photo opp!

Sewing project
Is this cute or what? I saw some little backpacks at Hobby Lobby and thought it would be a fun way to do my sewing assignment for today. This one is for my granddaughter (don't think the grandsons would go for it!) She is into pink, so I chose a polka dot fabric. I must say those ruffles take a long time, so I'm not producing these in quantity! I don't think it will make a book bag, but she carries around a lot of stuffed animals that would fit quite nicely.
Framed
The idea here, was to take an empty frame and find something to place in it. I liked the idea of framing some of my art books....seemed appropriate!
Mural
The assignment was to construct a mural. I was really not in the mood to do some extravagantly large item and I certainly don't need any wall-murals in my house. I almost skipped this one altogether, but since I'm committed to finishing this year, I found a long piece of brown wrapping paper and started a floral border. As usual, after I get started it turns out to be rather fun. This is the middle portion of a very long border.
Magic Markers
Magic Markers - draw with them or make something out of the markers themselves is the suggestion. I chose to use permanent markers on a little acrylic board I had done previously. I like to re-use materials and layer on another idea. Often the colors or textures shake loose some new ideas. This one had a real underwater look to it. So I added some seal life and bright color.
Stamp Design
Today's task was to design a postage stamp. We are always commemorating a person, event or occupation. I think a tribute to Motherhood is always appropriate! This little line design captures a mother-daughter moment.
Floating picture
Make something appear to float - I used a photo and retouched and tinted until looked like the Cheshire cat - floating in space. I like the mysterious expression on Jillie's face.
